We extend a warm welcome to all choirs to participate in 2012 Festival of Voices.
A Festival of Voices choir package offers touring and local choirs a range of opportunities to sing, listen and perform and includes:
- Entry into the Aperitivo Concert Series - 5 x 1hr concerts over 5 days featuring visiting choirs.
- Entry into the Festival Club, the social heart of the festival and where choir members come together to chat, share and enjoy performances on the Club stage.
- Drink voucher, your first drinks on us!
- Web profile where we promote your choir with bio, images and links.
- Advance notice on ticket sales to our sell out concert series so you can get in first and avoid disappointment.
And
Performance Opportunities - where WE do all the hard work of booking venues, coordinating tech needs and front of house staff, organising choir risers and insurance – and of course promoting your choir to a national audience! All you need to do is enjoy singing!
Touring and local choirs joining us through a FoV Choir Package can select to perform at the following:
Aperitivo Concert Series
The Aperitivo Concert Series showcases participating choirs in the Festival. Each Aperitivo is one hour featuring a maximum of three choirs (approx. 17mins per choir). These concerts utilize a range of venues, all within walking distance of Hobart CBD and water front precinct. Choirs are welcome to sell merchandise, CD’s etc at the end of the concert if they are performing.

Where Various venues
Time 6.00- 7.00pm
Technical support - Keyboard or piano and music stand provided. Choir rises provided in some venues. PA for MC only.
Singing in Public Places (SIPP)
The Hobart Twelve: A lunch-time program for choirs to sing in iconic Hobart locations, from the Cascade Brewery to Salamanca Market. It is lots of fun and puts a visible smile on the faces of pedestrians. We encourage you to take part in this program. Choirs are allocated 20 minutes to perform.
When Wednesday 11th to Saturday 14th July
Where Various venues
Time Between 12.00 – 2.00pm and Saturday morning at Salamanca Market.
Technical support - only one performance space will have a keyboard. No choir rises or PA. Unaccompanied repertoire preferred.
The Festival Club
This is the social heart of the Festival and a very popular place to perform. Places are limited, touring choirs are invited to perform. There is also time set aside for Chalk Board – where exciting collaborations can occur.

Time approx. 7.30 – 11.30pm for scheduled performances
