Included in your Major Workshop is a Festival Singers Package FeesAdult Major Workshops - Full - $390 / Youth Major Workshop - Full - $120The 2010 Festival partners with University of Tasmania ConservatoriumIn 2010 all adult Major Workshops will be accredited courses through UTAS Conservatorium of Music (No HECS fee apply to these workshops). Music and listening material will be sent to participant’s pre the commencement of the workshop. Young Voices 10-16yrsConducted by Lyn Williams and assisted by Dan Walker (Aus) The Young Voices workshops are a unique opportunity for children aged 10 - 16 to sing with children from across Australia. Approximately 220 singers will have the time of their lives - and perform at the Federation Concert Hall in the Festival Finale Concert! Lyn Williams, acclaimed youth choral director will be conducting the workshop and her choir Gondwana Voices will be joining her in the workshop. Give your child the opportunity to sing alongside some of Australia’s finest young singers. Australian composer Dan Walker will be assisting in the workshops so our young singers will also have the opportunity of learning pieces directly from the composer. Not to be missed. Contemporary A cappella 16yrsConducted by Austin Willacy (USA) This workshop is designed for singers, of all abilities, who want to explore the potential of the voice and the magnificence of harmonies, working with contemporary/pop/rock compositions and expanding the skills of singers. Join Victorian choirs Suara and Harambee (as seen on Channel 7 Battle of the Choirs) for this workshop – which is bound to inspire singers with the pure wonder of voices working together. Opera / Choral 16yrs +Conducted by Simon Kenway (Aus) We are excited to be able to offer choristers this opportunity to experience a whole new kind of repertoire. This workshop is for singers who are confident sight-readers and are ready to have fun singing. Simon is immensely experienced and will take singers on a challenging and fun journey onto the world of popular opera choruses. Please specify your part when applying for this workshop

Gospel Choir 16yrs +Conducted by Myron Butler & co facilitated by Timberlyn Butler We are delighted to announce the return of Grammy Award-winning singer/ songwriter and perfomer Myron and his wife Timberlyn Butler. Both are extremely talented musicians and wonderful teachers. Myron’s passion for gospel is vibrantly transmitted to singers in his workshop and those who participate will have an unforgettable experience of working with a rising gospel legend. Hobart has a huge tradition of gospel singing spearheaded by Dr Andrew Legg. The Southern Gospel Choir will form the core of this workshop so come along and join a wealth of singing experience.
