CONDUCTORS | Professional Development Weekend

The most exciting professional development for choral musicians ever to be offered in Tasmania.

The workshops will cater for conductors of semi-professional choirs, community and church choirs, school choirs and interested choristers. The sessions will provide an opportunity for those with considerable experience to their skills, and for those just starting out, to learn basic skills, and in particular, would be ideal for class room and developing choirs.

Major sessions will cover topics such as Building A Choral Sound, Conducting Gesture and Vocal Pedagogy for Conductors, whilst for all other sessions, participants will be divided according to experience. These intensive sessions will cover topics such as How To Build Music Literacy, Rehearsal Techniques, Basic Conducting Skills, and New Repertoire. A masterclass with demonstrations by experienced conductors, will provide an additional opportunity for all workshop attendees to participate as members of the workshop choir for the special sessions.

Cost $280 includes morning tea and a simple lunch on both days.

Sat 9.30 - 4.00pm  Sun 10.00 - 4.00pm 

The Festival of Voices is committed to making this opportunity as accessible as possible. We encourage participants to take part in the whole weekend. There will be no reduction of fees for sessions not attended.
