EXTRAORDINARY FOUR | The Idea of North
Event Type:
Aria award winning harmonic sensations The Idea of North return to Hobart to lead a celebration of the music that hit the charts. A dynamic exploration of the contemporary in four part harmony, with repertoire that appeals to all, this is a boppy upbeat workshop for singers of all backgrounds.
As James Morrison so aptly puts it, ‘a cappella is sometimes thought of as being minimalist, but when you can sing and entertain like the Idea of North, a band would just get in the way’.
The group has established a very significant reputation overseas where they travel many times each year for festivals, concerts, workshops and corporate events. Countries regularly visited include the USA and many different countries in both Europe and Asia. They have hosted and/or performed at a number of major festivals in such arenas as The Lincoln Centre in New York, the Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington DC and similar venues in Asia.
